Slowly and surely Dinamo is heading towards yet another double, but the situation in the Modri’s dressing room is like a ticking time-bomb. Every day more and more players are voicing concerns about too little game time or considering moving elsewhere

This season saw Dinamo play well in the Europa League and all but seize the sixth consecutive title while a cup win also looms. This promises to be another highly successful season for Dinamo, but the situation in the club is anything but ideal.

A boycott of the club’s fans, no shirt sponsors, the club’s executive vice president’s frequent media outbursts, low attendances at the ruin of a stadium – all this combined lingers over the club like a dark cloud. And as the season nears an end, no matter how successful in terms of silverware, it is clear that dissatisfaction lives at Maksimir Street 128.

During the season, fights broke out between Arijan Ademi and Ante Rukavina; Adrian Calello refused to come on as a substitute during a match in Gabela; talented young striker Andrej Kramaric’s father has pressed the club’s board to terminate his son’s contract so that he may find a new club and lastly, Pedro Morales has expressed his discontent over what he considers unsatisfactory game time.

Dinamo’s star player Sammir wants out of Dinamo and his relationship with team boss Vahid Halilhodzic has frozen over. This was apparent after he refused to shake hands with the gaffer following Dinamo’s game against Slaven Belupo. The only remaining question is how long will it be until the seemingly calm striker Ante Rukavina snaps, as the former Panathinaikos man has not starting and when he does come on to play, it is usually second-half injury time.

The overflowing dressing room is increasingly edgy and not even silverware can exorcise the negative spirit growing within. The sale of unhappy players seems to be the only option at the present time, but then Dinamo can say goodbye to any future continental ambitions.
