Hackers broke into the website of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs on Tuesday, posting a message against Croatia's NATO membership, the ministry said.
Ministry spokesman Berislav Zivkovic told the media that the website was not hacked and that access to the website was not denied at any point. "The posted content is no longer active. Our services are monitoring the information flow and the website is functioning normally," he said.
The message, left by a hacker group called TeaMpOisoN, said that NATO and Croatia as an alliance member were not needed in Libya and Syria. Croatia, together with NATO, was accused of covering up the killings of innocent civilians in the name of democracy and of committing genocide with the help of media.
Croatia on Tuesday marked the third anniversary of its accession to NATO.
The ministry's website was attacked in February over the international copyright protection agreement, known as ACTA.
