The Main Committee of the Croatian People's Party (HNS) on Saturday unanimously adopted a proposal by the party Presidency to nominate Radimir Cacic for another term as HNS leader and Vesna Pusic and Ivan Vrdoljak for vice-presidents.
Members of the Main Committee unanimously decided that the 11th election convention would be held on March 17 and discussed the current political situation.
They said that under Cacic's leadership the HNS had secured four ministerial positions and 15 seats in parliament, which was the party's best result in its 20-year history.
The party leadership expressed satisfaction with the HNS's cooperation with the partners in the coalition government, saying that the HNS and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) were partners that to one another were a solution, rather than a problem.
It is our duty to develop long-term good relations in the coalition and secure the success of this government, Cacic said.
HNS Presidency member Vesna Pusic said the party's three crucial contributions to the coalition government were its work on reaffirming Croatia's position in the international community, establishment of foundations for the functioning of the economy and the launching of new innovative projects in culture and space management.
