Josipovic arrives in New York for UN General Assembly's session

Croatian President Ivo Josipovic on Monday arrived in New York where he is to participate in the work of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly.

On Monday evening local time, Josipovic will meet at Croatia's Permanent Mission at the UN with Croatian emigrants living in New York. This is a traditional meeting Croatian officials visiting New York for sessions of the UN General Assembly always attend, and Josipovic will have the opportunity to inform the emigrants about the situation in Croatia.

On Tuesday, the President will meet with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, as well as with Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha. Later in the afternoon, he will take part in the launch of the project "Open Government Partnership", organised by the USA and Brazil.

US President Barack Obama, too, will arrive in New York late this evening local time, and will attend the event.

On Tuesday, Josipovic will also attend a dinner of legal experts.

On Wednesday, he will attend the opening of the general debate of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly and give a speech on Thursday evening local time.
