President Ivo Josipovic on Sunday received for talks United States Deputy Secretary of State William Burns who commended Croatia's achievements in the process of integration with the European Union, saying that he would invest additional effort to attract US investments in Croatia, the office of the Croatian president said.
Burns said that Croatia's progress served as a model for other countries in the region and thanked Croatia and President Josipovic for the efforts they were investing in the stabilisation and European path of the region.
The US official expressed gratitude for Croatia's participation in NATO-led peace missions, notably in Afghanistan.
The two officials also discussed the situation in the Middle East and President Josipovic thanked the US official for the support of the United States to Croatia.
