The president of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Tomislav Karamarko, is the new president of the HDZ parliamentary group and his deputies are Gordan Jandrokovic and Ivan Suker.
Karamarko informed the press about this after a session of the HDZ parliamentary group on Friday morning.
Asked about HDZ posts of vice presidents in the Croatian parliament, currently filled by former HDZ president Jadranka Kosor and by Vladimir Seks, Karamarko said the party had not yet discussed that.
As I said before, this will be decided by the HDZ presidency," Karamarko said.
He refuted media speculations that Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic had sent him a message through informal channels that he was prepared for a consensus on important national issues.
"We have not talked yet, the prime minister is on a business trip," Karamarko said adding he received no such message and that it would be inappropriate for them to communicate through informal channels.
"I am prepared to hold talks with everyone and of course with the prime minister when it is in the interest of our country but I don't know what is implied by consensus, we need a clear definition," Karamarko said.
Reporters asked Kosor if she would continue to be parliamentary vice president, Kosor said the HDZ session did not address this issue.
