Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) parliamentarian and the party's former president Jadranka Kosor said on Tuesday that she could see the preparation of the ground for her removal from the HDZ according to the latest statements of HDZ senior officials.
Kosor told reporters in the parliament that despite the growing pressure and imputations she would never leave the HDZ on her own.
She accused the current party leadership of having disseminating reports on her insistence on a luxurious hotel in Rome where she had been invited by the European People's Party for a gathering of the European Christian Democrats. She said that her original letter to the HDZ secretary-general Milijan Brkic showed that she had only asked ff the party could cover her costs in light of the fact that she had been invited to the meeting as an HDZ member.
She also rejected claims that she used to spend the HDZ funds on her jewelry.
Kosor said that the move of the party leadership to resort to media campaign against her was also bad for the party.
