Kosovo on Wednesday celebrates the second anniversary of the declaration of its independence from Serbia. Kosovo's independence has so far been recognised by 65 countries, including all countries in the region except Serbia.
On Wednesday, Kosovo's parliament will hold a special session to mark the second anniversary of its independence.
Last year, Serbia launched proceedings before the International Court of Justice to challenge the legality of Kosovo's decision to declare independence. The court is expected to deliver a ruling on the matter soon. The ruling is advisory and non-binding.
Of the 27-strong European Union, 22 countries have recognised Kosovo. Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Slovakia and Romania have not followed suit.
