The Krsko nuclear power plant automatically shut down at 11.36 am on Monday due to a sudden drop of pressure in the steam generator, the plant said, adding that its teams were checking the exact cause of the shutdown.
During the shutdown, all systems were operational and there was no effect on the environment or other negative repercussions.
The plant said the public would be notified when it would be restarted.
Croatia's power utility HEP said the shutdown would have no impact on power supply in Croatia.
