The Zagreb County Court on Friday sentenced a 28-year-old man to 40 years in prison for last year's robbery of a bank in the Zagreb suburb of Sesvete in which a young policeman was killed and another four were wounded.
Kazimir Duznovic was handed down a maximum combined sentence on all nine counts of the indictment after an eight-month trial.
Duznovic, who may appeal to the Supreme Court, was known to the police from before as a repeat offender, and he committed the crime at Sesvete while on parole.
