Marine turtle rescue centre in Mali Losinj in the Losinj archipelago was officially inaugurated by Croatian President Ivo Josipovic on Friday.
The entire project launched by the Blue World Institute of Marine Research and Conservation cost 100,000 euros.
This rescue centre is part of the project of the NETCET project, co-financed by the IPA CBC Adriatic Programme, the main objective of which is to develop common strategies for the conservation of cetaceans and sea turtles in the Adriatic through regional cooperation.
The newly-opened turtle sanctuary will be a part of the future centre in Mali Losinj for sea research.
