The Hungarian oil and gas company MOL issued a statement on Wednesday evening expressing its satisfaction with the signing earlier in the day of a settlement agreement between the Croatian food company Podravka, the Hungarian bank OTP and MOL, whereby all claims and obligations between the contractual parties, deriving from contracts concluded in March 2009 regarding 10.64% of Podravka's shares, ceased.
"MOL Group is pleased that this issue has been resolved. What we have always said was justified: from MOL's point of view this was a simple financial transaction. Now everybody can understand clearly that the speculations and the rumours about any connection between the Podravka loan and the Shareholders Agreement (between the Croatian government and MOL on INA of January 2009) were completely unfounded. The baseless and hostile allegations and accusations have failed," the statement said.
