Parliamentary clubs of deputies said on Tuesday they would support the ratification of the agreement on establishing an international anti-corruption academy as an international organisation, which Justice Minister Drazen Bosnjakovic described as another important step in the successful fight against corruption.
Bosnjakovic said that Croatia, as one of the founding country, signed the agreement late last year, together with 51 countries and two international organisation. Seven countries and two international organisation ratified the agreement by May 2011.
The international anti-corruption academy will become a centre of excellence in the corruption suppression education, necessary for the training of judges, state prosecutors and police officers fighting corruption and organised crime, the minister said.
He underlined that Croatia had done a lot in the fight against corruption by strengthening its institutions and adopting a strong normative framework.
