Croatian President Ivo Josipovic said on Monday that he would give the mandate for the formation of a new government as soon as he was provided with the final results, which he added, was up to the Constitutional Court and the State Election Commission (DIP).
"If I receive the final election results today, there will be no obstacle for me to give the mandate immediately. I expect the two state bodies to do their job," President Josipovic told reporters after the central ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence (HRZ PZO) Day at Pleso Airport.
The Election Commission said earlier on Monday that the final results could be expected by the end of this week at the earliest or at the start of the next week at the latest, upon the completion of procedures for all complaints.
