The eighth anti-government protest in Zagreb began downtown around 6 pm on Thursday, bringing together about 400 disgruntled citizens who embarked on a protest walk around the city, demanding the government step down and call early elections.
Tonight's protest did not begin with any speeches.
Many residents joined the walk and the number of protesters grew to nearly 3,000 in half an hour.
The protesters were chanting "Everyone to the streets" and "Thieves". Stopping by the Croatian National Bank (HNB), they were chanting "Give us back the money" and "We won't give the HNB".
The procession was being followed by the police.
The protests began three weeks ago and are being organised via social networks to take place every other day.
Ivan Pernar, who has introduced himself as one of the protest coordinators, has announced the biggest protests to date for Saturday, in Zagreb and all Croatian cities, and that as of next week, the protests in Zagreb will be staged less frequently, not every other day.
