Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Gordan Jandrokovic said at talks with the European parliament rapporteur on Croatia, Hannes Swoboda, in Zagreb on Monday that Croatia was ready to implement all the remaining reforms necessary for the completion of its EU entry talks by the end of Hungary's EU presidency, namely by the end of June, the Croatian foreign ministry said in a statement.
At the talks with Swoboda and a delegation of the European parliament's committee on foreign affairs, Minister Jandrokovic commented on the latest European parliament's progress report on Croatia, saying that the report was very useful as it provides clear guidelines on what is yet to be done so that Croatia can meet its obligations within the set deadline and demonstrate its credibility and full readiness for EU membership.
Jandrokovic said he briefed the European parliamentarians about the Croatian government's action plan on Judiciary and Fundamental Rights (chapter 23), which defines deadlines by which relevant ministries ought to meet the necessary benchmarks.
The minister said Croatia expected to make further progress in its EU entry talks at the next intergovernmental conference, scheduled for 19 April.
Swoboda and Jandrokovic also talked about the situation in Southeast Europe and agreed that Croatia's success in European integration processes cold be the best proof to all countries in the region that EU membership was attainable once the necessary criteria are met, the statement said.
