Commenting on difficult weather conditions in the Imotska Krajina and Dalmatia regions, President Ivo Josipovic has said that once the weather conditions stabilise, one should identify where the winter maintenance system has failed and reform it.
"We now have to see to it that there are as few casualties as possible and as little damage as possible, and then start reorganising the system," Josipovic told Radio Imotski on Tuesday.
He said that he was in touch with Defence Minister Ante Kotromanovic and that if necessary, the army would be again deployed to remove snow.
"I call on citizens, when all this is over, to be critical and say where the system has failed," he said.
The railway operator HZ said on Tuesday evening that two night train lines running from Zagreb to Split and back were cancelled.
The Zagreb Railway Station reported delays in the departure and arrival of fast trains operating on international and domestic railway lines.
