Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said on Monday it was sad how President Ivo Josipovic was criticising her government which she said had concluded the accession negotiations with the European Union and "is successfully working on major economic projects" and combating corruption.
In response to Josipovic's statement that Prime Minister Kosor always found something to grumble about his envoys at various events instead of finding answers to crucial economic problems, Kosor said today that president was trying to humiliate her cabinet.
She added that this would not discourage the government.
It seems the president can't in any way accept the data about Croatia's economic growth, GDP growth, industrial production and an excellent tourist season. Instead he is mentioning a country of woes and horrors, which is not good, Kosor said adding that she proposes that the government's economic team may brief him about those macroeconomic trends.
As for her criticism about President Josipovic having sent a Social Democratic Party official as his envoy to a local folk festival, Kosor said that every citizen and politician "has the right to point out what they deem can affect the election's outcome," Kosor said during her visit to Sveta Nedelja, west of Zagreb.
