A Picasso exhibition in Zagreb's Klovicevi Dvori gallery will open on March 23 and not February 14 for security and museum reasons, museum manager Marina Viculin told the media on Tuesday, adding that all preparations were proceeding well.
The opening was postponed at the wish of Claire Bergaut, conservator at the Picasso National Museum in Paris, and French Culture Ministry representative Dominique Buffin, who, having seen the gallery, concluded it would be better for the works to be displayed on the second and not the first floor, Viculin said.
The exhibition will cost a little over HRK 9 million and not HRK 14 million as first estimated.
The works have to be returned to the Paris museum by the end of June and this will be the last time to see them outside of that museum.
The exhibition will comprise 56 paintings and sculptures from all of Picasso's periods.
