Poll shows Tadic has edge over Nikolic

Boris Tadic, the Democratic Party (DS) candidate for President of Serbia, would receive 58 per cent of votes in the presidential run-off scheduled for May 20, while his rival from the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Tomislav Nikolic, would gain 42 per cent, according to the results of an opinion poll seen by Tanjug news agency on Friday.

The poll was conducted by the Serbian agency Ipsos Strategic Marketing on May 10 on a sample of 1,198 respondents. The results showed that 54.7 per cent of voters were certain to vote in the second round of the presidential election, while 25.7 per cent said they might go to the polls.
