The European Commission has completed accession negotiations with Croatia and it is now up to the member states to make a final assessment and decide on the conclusion of the negotiations, EU Enlargement Commissioner told a news conference in Brussels on Friday.
I am exceptionally glad to announce that the Commission has today completed the negotiations with Croatia. As far as the Commission is concerned, the work is over, the commissioner said.
It is now up to the member states to make a final decision on the official conclusion of the negotiations and on the signing of the accession treaty. We are confident that this will happen because the negotiations have been conducted very thoroughly, Fuele said when presenting the Commission's decision.
