Croatia's registered unemployment rate went down to 18.5% in July from 18.6% in June, thus reaching the lowest level since September 2012 when it was at 18.3%, the national statistical office reported on Thursday.

July was the fifth consecutive month with a reduction of jobless rate, albeit at a slower pace. Positive trends are ascribed to seasonal employment in tourism.

However, registered unemployment rate was up by 0.8% in July on the year, given that July 2012 saw the registered jobless rate of 17.7%.

As many as 316,246 job-seekers were registered with the Croatian Employment Service this July, down by 0.6% or by 1,1864 from June.
