Croatia's registered unemployment rate in September at 18.3%

The registered unemployment rate in Croatia in September was 18.3%, or 0.6% higher than in August, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday.

Year on year, the registered unemployment rate was up 1.5% from 16.8% in September 2011.

The registered unemployment rate is calculated as a ratio between the number of job seekers registered with the National Employment Service (HZZ) and the active labour force.

At the end of September, 311,100 unemployed people were registered with the HZZ, which was 3.2% more than in August and 9.7% more than in September 2011.
